Oppo Find N5 Launches Thinest Folding Phone In The World, Samsung Is Far Behind

JAKARTA - Now there is a new leader in the foldable world, because Oppo Thursday, February 20, launched Find N5 with hardware specifications that broke world records.

Directly to the point, the Oppo Find N5 is the world's thinest book-style foldable foldable phone, with a thickness of only 8.93 mm when it closes and 4.21 mm when it opens. This beats the Honor Magic V3 which has a thickness of 9.0 mm, and is thinner than 3 mm compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

This slim profile is combined with a weight of only 229 grams, making this foldable phone only 2 grams heavier than the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Although very thin, Oppo does not compromise much. The N5 Find is powered by a 7-core version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite, paired with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. The phone runs ColorOS 15.0.1 based Android 15 directly from the box, and is equipped with a 5,600mAh battery with 80W fast charging via USB-C and 50W wireless charging at compatible AirVOOC chargers.

In comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 still uses a 4,400 mAh battery, despite significant differences in terms of thickness.

The outer screen of the Oppo Find N5 is a 6.62-inch OLED LTPO panel with "Nanocrystal glass," while the inside screen is an 8.12-inch OLED LTPO panel with an aspect ratio of 9.9:9, slightly higher than its width. Oppo hinge design minimizes the folding of the screen, which the company calls "Almost Invisible."

The camera on Find N5 includes a 50MP Sony LYT-700 main camera, 8MP ultrawide, and a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom equivalent to 70mm.

Oppo Find N5 was launched globally at the same time as its debut in China. This foldable phone is priced at US$2,499 (Rp50.5 million) in Singapore (where the launch event was held)

Oppo should be proud of this device. The increase in the generation of Find N3 (also known as OnePlus Open) to Find N5 is amazing, and it's not just about how thin it is.

Find N5 comes with a very fine hardware. The supply side is quite gripping so I feel there is no need to use casings (although casings are included in the box). The outer screen reaches the edge of the device, creating a view that has not been achieved much by foldable phones so far.

The inner screen is a very wide canvas, and is barely perturbed by the folding of the screen. Folding is not completely lost, but hard to see, even from a certain angle.

This makes the Galaxy Z Fold 6, feeling like cheap imitations compared to this. Clear Samsung folds and thick hardware are not entirely bad, but feel like a scam when you see what foldable technology is capable of today.

Oppo telah menetapkan standar baru ke depan, dan akan menarik untuk melihat bagaimana kompetitor menanggapi sepanjang tahun ini.
