IPhone 16e Camera Not Equipped With Latest Generation Photographic Styles
JAKARTA - In the iPhone 16 lineup, Apple has completely overhauled the Photograph Styles feature that was first introduced on the iPhone 13. However, although the iPhone 16e has almost the same hardware as other more expensive iPhone 16 models, this device does not appear to be equipped with the latest generation of Photographic Styles.
Based on Apple's official page comparing various iPhone models, only the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro have the latest generation of Photographic Styles. The iPhone 16e gets a lot of upgrades to the camera feature that is not available on the iPhone SE that has been discontinued, but it looks like this phone won't have the latest Photographic Styles.
The iPhone 16e specification mentions support for "Photographic Styles" without including the word "newer generation," indicating that this phone still uses the same photo filter as on the iPhone 13.
For those who are not yet familiar, Apple introduces the Photographic Styles with the iPhone 13. Unlike the simple filters applied to compressed images, this feature modifies the tone, contrast, and warmth of images during photo taking. As a result, this adjustment is done more intelligently, especially in terms of skin and sky color.

There is no official explanation as to why the iPhone 16e doesn't have the latest Photographic Styles, even though it has the A18 chip and the same 48MP main camera as the basic iPhone 16. This could be a marketing decision, similar to not activating ProRAW on non-Pro iPhones.
In addition to the A18 chip and the 48MP camera, the iPhone 16e has a 6.1-inch OLED display, Face ID, and a USB-C port. The phone is also equipped with Apple's first custom 5G modem for better energy efficiency.
