BAIC Opens BJ80 Option As Indonesia's NOC Operational Vehicle

JAKARTA - Not long ago, BAIC Indonesia inaugurated a collaboration with the Indonesian Olympic Committee (NOC Indonesia) to support national athletes to achieve achievements in the international arena.

This was announced at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2025 with this brand providing support in the form of sponsorship and loaning two BAIC cars, such as BJ40 Plus and X55 II to become the official Indonesian Team vehicles. Then, what about the BJ80 model unit?

BAIC Indonesia's Chief Operating Officer, Dhani Yahya, said that his party did not yet have a plan to provide BJ80 for the Indonesian Team. However, it is still open to presenting it in the future.

"Not yet, we stick to the agreement we have agreed on for two years. So during that period, we are flexible in their support," said Dhani during the IIMS 2025 event at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta.

Dhani added that his party opened the possibility to bring BJ80 as an operation from NOC Indonesia that would adjust their needs.

"So maybe BJ80 is for high-ranking officials or something. Of course, in addition to supporting the world of sports, we also see the visibility of vehicles that our business perspective requires," added Dhani.

In design, this one car has a boxy look. This vehicle is designed to conquer a wide range of terrain with an entry angle of 39 degrees, a 25-degree incline angle, and 33 degrees exit angle, ensuring good maneuverability on various road conditions.

Regarding the heartburn, BAIC BJ80 is powered by a 3,000cc Turbo engine with an aluminum V6 engine configuration combined with twin-turbo technology, BJ80 produces 241 Hp of power with a maximum torque of 420 Nm in the range of 1,700 to 5,500 rpm.
