Fajar/Rian Aim For Hattrick At All England

JAKARTA - The men's doubles pair Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto are aiming for the target of defending the All England title as well as making a hat trick when appearing in this year's edition.

All England 2025 is scheduled to take place on March 11-16, 2025 at Utilita Arena Birmingham, England. Indonesia went there with the status of defending champion in the men's doubles and singles sectors.

"Surely want to be the best. Last year we were able to win, so hopefully we can get another title for the third time," said Fajar.

Fajar/Rian last year managed to climb the highest podium to defend the title after defeating the fifth seeded pair from Malaysia, Aaron Chia/Soh Wooik Yik, in a two-game straight match.

In the previous year or the 2023 edition, the first All England title was won by Fajar/Rian after successfully stopping their compatriot partner veteran Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan.

Fajar said that they continued to accelerate preparations intensely to be able to achieve the target at the oldest badminton event in the world. He also hopes that everything will run smoothly until the tournament.

"There are still about two weeks before we go to All England. Hopefully we can maximize preparations and are far from getting sick and injured," he said.

All England is the fourth BWF World Tour tournament that Fajar/Rian participated in this year's calendar. Previously, they played at the Malaysia Open, India Open, and Indonesia Masters 2025.

Their best journey in the three events was to become runners-up at Istora Senayan. At that time they lost against the Malaysian pair, Man Wei Chong/Kai Wun Tee.

Apart from Fajar/Rian, last year Indonesia won the All England title from Jonatan Christie. The 2018 Asian Games gold medalist defeated his colleague Anthony Sinisuka Ginting.

Fajar/Rian and Jonathan are two of the 10 Indonesian representatives who will appear this year's All England. The only sector that was not sent there was a mixed double.
