Present With Complete ADAS Technology, Here's A Short Impression Of Driving GWM Haval Jolion Ultra HEV

JAKARTA - Great Wall Motor (GWM) participated in the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2025 by introducing the Haval Jolion Ultra HEV as well as adding variants to the sub-brand Haval in the Indonesian market.

Unlike other types, the Haval Jolion Ultra HEV has a number of improvements, especially in leading Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) technology features that improve safety and comfort.

"With various complete ADAS features and premium technology, Haval Jolion Ultra HEV is the right choice for consumers who prioritize safety and comfort," said Director of Planning, Product Development, Logistics, and Aftersales GWM Indonesia, Constantinus Herlijoso during the IIMS 2025 event.

This time, the VOI team got the opportunity to experience the latest feature on the sidelines of IIMS 2025. What kind of impression do you think? Here's the short review.

Charming Design

Just like the standard Haval Jolion HEV, this car has a compact design but still features an elegant design that comes from the T-Shaped Dagger Ax LED headlamp, Boomerang LED tail light, and the Star Matrix grille, reflecting a modern lifestyle.

Then, Haval Jolion HEV has dimensions with a length of 4,472 mm, a width of 1,841 mm, and a height of 1,626 mm.

Full ADAS Feature

This car carries an ADAS feature that doesn't exist yet in its standard version. According to the manufacturer, Haval Jolion Ultra HEV has 20 new features of the ADAS Intelligent Drive Level 2 which offers a cutting-edge driving experience.

Not only that, there are also 4 exclusive features in its class that further improve comfort and security, including Intelligent Cruise Assist (ICA) who smartly adjust the speed to the vehicle at the front as well as maintain a position on track.

Smart Turning automatically adjusts acceleration when passing corners to stay stable and safe. Lane Center Keeping (LCK) helps vehicles stay in the middle of the track, including on the turning road. Meanwhile, Smart Evade helps intelligently avoid large vehicles such as trucks or buses by adjusting positions if the distance is too close.

The VOI team tried the feature directly on the highway. The ICA feature can provide a different comfort and the vehicle can run on its own according to the speed set and maintain the position to be on track.

Meanwhile, LCK technology helps cars to stay in the middle of the track. When it is about to change lanes, the car actively gives a warning sign and orders drivers to drive in the middle lane.

Not only that, this car is equipped with a 12.3-inch multi-touch infotainment screen that can activate the ADAS feature on the car.

Our spotlight is on the Blind Spot Detection (BSD) system that can detect blind spots around the vehicle. The system will activate when another vehicle crosses an area that cannot be seen by the driver.

Prices and Competitors

GWM Haval Jolion Ultra HEV is priced at IDR 418 million for the Indonesian market. The manufacturer also provided a special promo for IDR 405 million for the first 100 buyers.

The car will certainly be an interesting consideration considering its rivals have adopted an advanced ADAS feature, one of which is Mitsubishi Xforce Diamond Sense which is set at IDR 422.9 million.
