Seconds Of Motorcycle Thieves In Action In The Crowd Of North Jakarta Gang Recorded By CCTV, Koja Police Moves
JAKARTA - The theft of a motorcycle was recorded on Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) on Jalan Pinang Gang 2 RT 004 / RW 05, Lagoa, Koja, North Jakarta.
The situation in the alley, which was busy with people, did not deter the two thieves from destroying the locks on the motorbike belonging to Edwin Toni (45) and taking the motorbike away without the residents' suspicion.
"It happened April 19. I put the motorbike in front of the alley near the gate at 08.30 WIB. I locked the handlebar and the keyhole was closed," said Edwin when contacted by Antara in Jakarta, Wednesday, April 21.
He put the motor key at home. "But at 11.00 WIB, when my wife was going to the market, she saw that there was no motorbike," said Edwin.
In the CCTV footage, at around 10:31 a.m. WIB, the two perpetrators riding on a black motorbike initially just crossed the alley, but they saw two motorbikes parked in front of the house.
A person who was in a hitchhike then got down and approached one of the parked motorbikes. Initially the thief who wore a helmet and black jacket with white sleeves was just sitting on the motorcycle seat.
When another perpetrator in a black shirt and wearing a helmet approached him, the perpetrator in a black jacket with white arms immediately broke the key of the motorbike with a tool.
When breaking the lock, the perpetrator actually touched a small child who was crossing the alley. He was shocked.
But the little boy did not realize the situation that was happening and then continued walking away from the perpetrator. Within seconds of that, Edwin's motorbike with registration number B 3362 UVE was on and was immediately taken away by the two perpetrators.
Edwin was irritated when he received a call from his wife that the motorbike had been lost. He immediately went home to check the CCTV and found out that his motorbike had been stolen.
At around 12.30 WIB, Edwin immediately reported the case to the Koja Police, bringing evidence of his CCTV footage. The police are currently following up on the case report.
