Minerba Law Ratified, Religious Ormas To SMEs Can Manage Mines Outside Ex-PKP2B

JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia said, by inaugurating the mineral and coal bill into law, priority mining land for religious community organizations (Ormas) to Small and Medium Usha (UKM) is no longer limited to the land of the former Coal Mining Concession Work Agreement (PKP2B).

"With this law, the space for religious organizations is not only limited to PKP2B, but also open to ex-PKP2B," Bahlil told the media crew at the DPR RI Building, Tuesday, February 18.

Thus, he ensured, later the mining land provided for religious organizations, SMEs, cooperatives, BUMN, BUMD will not only be limited to ex-PKP2B land.

"Yesterday in the PP, it was only limited to ex-PKP2B. But if we can encourage this one. We are happy if this religious organization, we apologize if we involve it. For those who want it, for those who need it," continued Bahlil.

For information, previously in Government Regulation (PP) No. 25 of 2024 the government only provided land for ex-PKP2B to religious organizations such as former PKP2B PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC), PT Arutmin Indonesia, PT Kendilo Coal Indonesia, PT Adaro Energy Tbk, PT Multi Harapan Utama (MAU), and PT Kideco Jaya Agung.

Furthermore, Bahlil added, for SMEs and Cooperatives who want to be involved in mining activities, this is a business entity located in a mining area.

This is intended so that there is equity and can be enjoyed by SMEs around vtambang.

"For example, he is in East Kalimantan, his territory. Those who apply for MSMEs must be MSMEs from East Kalimantan in that district. So what? Equitable," said Bahlil.

Bahlil assessed that so far there has been no equitable ownership of mining land and is only controlled by large entrepreneurs located in Jakarta.

"Honestly, on various occasions, I say that IUP has more offices in Jakarta. Now we want to return this," said Bahlil.
