Lack Of Digital Talents, Kaspersky Finds 36 Million Cyber Threats During 2024 In Indonesia
JAKARTA - Lack of talent in the cybersecurity industry is not a new phenomenon; however, in recent years, this has become very critical, especially in the massive era of technological developments.
Based on the latest telemetry for 2024, Kaspersky managed to detect and block more than 36,168,342 local threat efforts in Indonesia.
This figure decreased by 29.44 percent compared to the same period in 2023 with 51,261,542 detections. But in general, 35.6 percent of users were targeted for local threats last year. This data places Indonesia in the 71st position globally.
The use of local infection statistics for a user's computer is a very important indicator. layoffs and file viruses are the cause of most of the incident.
Kaspersky data shows how often users are attacked by malware that spreads through removable USB drives, CDs and DVDs, and other "offline" methods.

In conclusion, Kaspersky emphasized that Indonesia still needs quality cyber talent in its field. Because, the lack of direct experience can have an impact on business.
"Strengthening cyber talent capacity, especially in organizations, will respond to industrial needs in today's digital era," commented Adrian Hia, Managing Director for Asia Pacific at Kaspersky.
However, Adrian appreciated the steps taken by the Indonesian government, especially the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, by training one million digital talents from all over Indonesia.
