Police Shoot Murderer In Bali While Trying To Escape To Tarakan

The perpetrator of the murder, named Bastomi Prasetyawan (34) from Banyuwangi, East Java, was finally arrested by a joint team from the Denpasar Police, Bali.

The perpetrator stabbed the victim named Kadek Parwata (31) who was declared dead when he was taken to the hospital.

The perpetrator was shot in two of his calf because when he was arrested he resisted and would flee to the Tarakan City area, North Kalimantan.

He was arrested at Tanjung Perak Port, Surabaya, East Java, on Sunday (16/2).

"However, when he was arrested, the perpetrator resisted the food of the members who made the arrests taking firm and measured action. Because the perpetrators resisted and wanted to run away," said Denpasar Police Chief Kombes Muhammad Iqbal Simatupang, Monday, February 17.

After stabbing the victim, the perpetrator fled to Bayuwangi, then fled to Jember.

After that, the perpetrator fled in a travel car to Surabaya.

"The motive was that the perpetrator was offended to see the victim at the crime scene. Where previously the perpetrator had abused other victims at the crime scene," added Iqbal.

The stabbing took place in the early hours of Thursday (13/2) in front of a grocery shop on Graha Permai Housing Entrance Street, North Nangka Street, Tonja Village, North Denpasar District, Denpasar City, Bali.

At that time, the perpetrator and another victim as well as a witness with the initials MDW (19) were involved in a collision of a motorcycle and the perpetrator and then chased the MDW victim to the scene and beat the victim and after that the MDW victim fled.

The perpetrator then looked for the victim MDW. But the perpetrator actually met a victim named Kadek Parwata who wanted to shop at a shop.

Kareena is considered a friend of the MDW victim, the perpetrator stabbed the victim Kadek Parwata using a mandate knife.

"So before he did this stabbing, in another place he also had another problem. And the perpetrator thought the victim was a friend of the person who was previously beaten by the perpetrator at the scene. Because what he thought was the one he stabbed was the theme (the first victim), it wasn't," he explained.

"The issue (of the first problem) was a motorcycle on the road and he was chased. He thought it was a friend who was grazed," he continued.

The perpetrator was charged with Article 351 Paragraph 3, Subsidiary to Article 338 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of 15 years in prison.
