The Difference Between Mani, Madzi, And Wadi, What Is The Law According To Islam?

YOGYAKARTA - In Islamic fiqh, it is known that there are terms manifold, madzi, and wadi which are fluids that come out of the genitals. Those who do not understand may think that these three categories of search are considered the same. Whereas there are some differences in manifolds, madzi, and wadi.

Sayyid Sabiq in his work Fiqih Sunnah explained that mani, madzi, and wadi are among the impure categories that require a Muslim to purify it. A similar view was also expressed by Sa'id bin Ali bin Wahf Al-Qahthani in his book Salatul Mu'min.

However, the stronger opinion of the clerics states that manifolds are not unclean, but holy. Meanwhile, madzi and wadi are considered unclean. However, the release of these three fluids still requires someone to do their own thing.

To understand more deeply about manifolds, madzis, and wadi, including their differences and procedures, explanations can be found in the books of Shalatul Mu'min, Fiqih Sunnah, and Al-Fiqh' Al-Madzahib Al-Arba'ah by Syaikh Abdurrahman Al-Juzairi.

The following is an explanation of the manifolds, madzis, and wadi that you need to understand as Muslims:

Mani, known as sperm water, is a liquid that comes out of the genitals by radiating and usually accompanied by a sense of pleasure. This liquid comes out when experiencing pleasure in intimate relationships or other similar things.

In men, manifold water is white and thick. Meanwhile, in women, the color tends to be yellowish and more fluid. Even so, there is a view that states that the manifold in women does not come out of the body, but remains in the genitals (farj).

Some scholars argue that manifolds are unclean. But stronger opinions, Syafi'i and Hambali's mazhab views, state that manifold water is sacred as long as it departs from a reasonable path, comes out after reaching the age of nine years (or ten years for men), even if it comes out in the form of blood.

The procedure for purifying manifolds is to take a junub bath after the release of the liquid before carrying out the mandatory worship by Allah SWT. If the water is manifold and hits the clothes, it is advisable to wash it if it is still wet.

However, if the water of the manifold has dried up, it is enough just to dribble. This opinion refers to the story of Aisyah who once advised a man who washed all of his clothes because he was suspected of being exposed to manifold water.

You can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't help it, you can't.

Meaning: "It's enough for you to wash the part that is affected if you actually see it; but if not, you just water the surrounding part with water. Really, I once cleaned the manifold in the cloth of the Prophet by drinking it just and then praying by wearing the cloth. (HR Muslim)

Madzi is a thin and clear fluid that comes out due to sexual stimulation, such as when making out or imagining things related to intimate relationships (jima). This fluid also often comes out when someone is making out.

Madzi is categorized as unclean that is difficult to avoid, and often the release of this liquid is not realized because it does not cause a certain sensation. Madzi can come out of the genitals of men and women, although women tend to remove it more often.

The ulama agreed that the madzi is unclean. The way to purify it is to wash the parts of the body affected using water. If the madzi hits clothes, just pour one palm of water on the affected part. In addition, a person is required to perform ablution before performing prayers after the release of the madzi.

Sebagaimana sabda Rasulullah SAW:

You can't help it, you can't help yourself, you can't help yourself, you can't help yourself, you can't help yourself, you can't help yourself, you can't help yourself, you can't help yourself, you can't help yourself, you can't help yourself, you can't help yourself, you can't.

Meaning: Let him wash his genitals and both of his men's hands, then pray as ablution to pray. (HR Abu Dawud [1/41/190-192])

Wadi is a white, slightly thick, and cloudy liquid that usually comes out after or accompanys urine. The ulama agreed that the law for wadi water is unclean.

Aisyah narrated, "Wasi comes out after urinating, therefore someone should wash his genitals, then ablution and no need to shower (junub)." (HR Ibnu Mundzir)

A Muslim who takes out wadi, how to clean it by washing his genitals or the limb of the affected body. After that, you can perform ablution as usual.

Wadi is a white liquid, tends to be cloudy, and a bit thick which usually comes out after urinating or at the same time as the release of urine. The ulama agreed that wadi was included in the impure category.

Aisyah once narrated, 'Wadi comes out after urinating, so someone needs to wash their genitals, then performs ablution without needing a junub bath.' (HR Ibnu Mundzir)

For a Muslim who issues wadi, the way to sterilize it is to wash his genitals or body parts that are affected by the fluid. Then you can perform ablution as usual to perform worship.

That's a review of the differences in manifold, madzi, and wadi that are important to understand by Muslims. Although both are fluids that come out of the genitals, there are some differences from the three. Also do you read whether manifolds accidentally have to take a bath?
