Antony Even Embedded After Being Dumped By Manchester United

JAKARTA - Antony even shined after being dumped by Manchester United. Since being loaned to Real Betis in January 2025, he has even scored three goals and provided one assist in four matches that have been undertaken in all competitions.

Most recently, he scored a beautiful goal when Betis silenced Real Sociedad 3-0 on Monday, February 17, 2025, early morning WIB.

Not only contributed one goal, the 24-year-old striker also posted one assist while playing full first for the Betis.

Antony has been fielded in three consecutive matches. He's always been a starter. It's just that, in the first two matches in Betis, he didn't play full (72-74 minutes).

His first goal for Betis was recorded when he lost 2-3 to Celta Vigo, Saturday, February 8, 2025.

Antony insists that he is not worthy of being marginalized by Manchester United. The left-footed volley inside the penalty box gave a signal that the Brazilian returned to his best performance.

Antony then gave Marc Roca a pass for Betis' third goal. The donation also made Betis move up to eighth in the La Liga standings.

Antony's contribution could actually be more. His action penetrated the penalty box made him have to be violated and ended in a 12-kick. Unfortunately, the execution of Giovani Lo Celso was still countered by the Sociedad goalkeeper.

Since joining Manchester United on loan until the end of the season, Antony has performed four times in all competitions.

He has now been named Best Player of the Match in all three matches in La Liga, against Athletic Club, Celta Vigo, and Sociedad, and impressed against Gent at the UEFA Conference League.

"I think the most important thing is to feel happy. I'm (happy) here. Everything is going through."

"I'm very happy to score goals and help the team. I don't have (target goals) whatsoever, I'm just working hard. I'm focused, happy, and enjoy every day," Antony told DAZN when asked about his stunning performance secrets since moving from Manchester United.

Antony performed brilliantly as part of a new Betis attack, playing behind another new signing, Cucho Hernandez, who joined MLS club Columbus Crew, alongside Isco and young player Jesus Rodriguez.

This composition actually makes him comfortable so that he can bring out his best performance.

"I'm happy (with the attackers). I've always said that teams have to work collectively, but those individuals can determine matches."

"Antony has started very well. Above all, he scored a lot of goals - the goals he scored today are not easy, huh!" said Betis coach Manuel Pellegrini, in a press conference after the match.

Antony remains the second most expensive player Manchester United has ever recruited after Paul Pogba for 80 million from Ajax in 2022, a fee that will be outside the Betis price range.

However, the La Liga club is eager to extend the Brazilian's stay at the club. Real Betis CEO Ramon Alarcon claims this week that it is a possibility. "Why not?" he said.

Betis now have a consecutive away game, against Gent at the UEFA Conference League and Getafe in La Liga, before they host Real Madrid league leaders on March 2, 2025.
