Jens Raven: Defeat To Uzbekistan A Good Experience For The U-20 National Team

JAKARTA - Indonesian U-20 National Team striker Jens Raven assessed that the defeat to the U-20 Uzbekistan national team in the second match of Group C of the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup at the Shenzen Youth Football Training Base Stadium, Shenzhen, China, today is a valuable lesson.

Raven thinks Indonesia is actually doing quite well, but Uzbekistan can show even better games.

"It's a great experience for us to play here, but I want to thank all the players for their hard work today, I think it's a tough game, but we still have one more game before it ends," Raven said.

"I want to thank the coaches, staff and players who worked hard today. I think we played well, but they played better and when we made a mistake, they punished us with goals and we learned from that."

Indonesia lost 1-3 to Uzbekistan and confirmed that Garuda Nusantara's steps at the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup were stopped in the group stage.

In the match against Uzbekistan, Indonesia could actually maximize the 1-1 draw until the first half ended, but entering the second half, Ikram Algiffari's goal had to concede twice.

Furthermore, Indonesia will meet Yemen in the last match of Group C of the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup, Wednesday (19/2) which will not affect the certainty of death from the two countries.

"I think all the players need to do a good recovery and look forward, because this is not just an opportunity we have, we are young and have chances out there," concluded Raven.

Indonesia is now in third place in the Group C standings of the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup without points from two matches with a two-goal deficit.
