Elected Governor Luthfi Prepares A Team For Central Java Provincial Government Budget Efficiency

JAKARTA - Central Java (Central Java) elected governor Ahmad Luthfi admitted that he had prepared a transition team to regulate budget efficiency according to President Prabowo Subianto's instructions to accelerate development in the province he would lead.

"Yes, efficiency, especially regional transfers, we have discussed it. We have formed a transition team to become our transition team in order to accelerate the Central Java area," said Luthfi when met after the health examination of the elected regional head at the Ministry of Home Affairs Office, Sunday, February 16.

Luthfi is also optimistic that the integrated regional government program with the central government can start immediately after being sworn in on Thursday last week.

"I am sure that when starting on the 20th we will be running related to programs in the context of integration with the central government and collaboration in the government in the Central Java region," he said.

Presiden Prabowo Subianto sebelumnya mengeluarkan Instruksi Presiden Nomor 1 Tahun 2025 yang meminta anggaran pemerintah pada APBN dan APBD Tahun Anggaran 2025 dipangkas sebesar Rp306,69 triliun.

The budget efficiency comes from the ministry/institution budget of IDR 256.1 trillion and transfers to the regions amounting to IDR 50.59 trillion.

Through these instructions, the President directed a number of state officials, ranging from the ministers of the Red and White Cabinet, the TNI Commander, the National Police Chief, the Attorney General, to governors, regents, and mayors to carry out budget efficiency measures in various sectors.

The General Election Commission (KPU) of Central Java Province in Semarang, Wednesday, February 5, appointed the pair Ahmad Luthfi and Taj Yasin Maimoen as the elected candidate pairs in the 2024 Central Java Governor and Deputy Governor Elections.

The Central Java KPU appointed the Luthfi-Yasin pair as elected governor and deputy governor candidates with 11,390,191 votes in the 2024 Pilkada or 59.14 percent of the total valid votes. The determination of the elected candidate was made after a copy of the Constitutional Court Decision Number 263/PHPU.GUB-XXIII/2025.

The simultaneous inauguration of the elected regional head from the 2024 Pilkada is scheduled for Thursday, February 20. After that, regional heads took part in a one-week retreat at the Military Academy in Magelang, Central Java, from Friday, February 21 to Friday, February 28.
