Will Diligently Check Industrial Estates In Batang, Jokowi: This Is A Very Large Area
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) ensures that he will be diligent in checking industrial estates in Batang, Central Java.
The reason is that this area is very large because it is built on a land area of 4,300 hectares and will be a pilot.
"I will regularly check this Batang industrial area. Because this is indeed a very large area, which has good competitiveness and this is what we will make as an example for later other industrial areas located in provinces both in Java and outside Java," Jokowi said in a press conference during his visit which was broadcast on the YouTube account of the Presidential Secretariat, Wednesday, April 21.
Jokowi said that of the 4,300 hectares of land in the industrial area, 450 hectares of which are ready and will be used for investment related to technology.
Not only that, Jokowi said, later in this industrial area various industries would be built. Including, a glass factory which is likely to become the largest factory in Asia.
"Therefore, this afternoon I will check the readiness of this industrial area in Batang," he said.
In addition, Jokowi requested that this industrial area be used immediately so that it could drive national economic growth.
"We hope (Batang industrial area, red) will absorb as many workers as possible, provide as many opportunities as possible, as widely as possible, and there is also an inflow of capital, there is capital inflow," he said.
During this working visit, President Jokowi was accompanied by the Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono, the Head of BKPM Bahlil Lahadalia, the Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo, the Regent of Batang Wihaji, and the board of directors of PTPN, as well as the management of Grand Batang City.
