Next Year Suzuki Plans To Launch Its First Electric Car E VITARA In Indonesia

JAKARTA - PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) through President Director Minoro Amano revealed the plan to start selling his first electric car, namely e VITARA in Indonesia in early 2026.

The plan was disclosed by Minuru Amano when opening the Suzuki booth at the 2025 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) annual exhibition, which will take place from February 13-23.

Minuru's statement is also a manifestation of the Multi pathway Strategy Suzuki Global's steps in providing various alternatives to environmentally friendly vehicles for customers.

"This strategic initiative marks a significant step towards creating sustainable future mobility for Suzuki, and underscores our commitment to innovation in products and technology for the Indonesian market," Minoru said some time ago.

Suzuki Indonesia's courage to include the plan into the next big agenda is because Suzuki is confident in carrying out a mission to bring sustainable future mobility. In addition, Suzuki believes e VITARA can answer the growing needs of the battery-based electric vehicle market (BEV).

Global Suzuki has introduced e VITARA directly at the end of 2024 in Milan, Italy, and has also launched in India. The presence of the electric car is part of Suzuki's 10-year technology strategy with a focus on minimizing energy consumption.

So what are the specifications?

Suzuki e VITARA carries the advantages of design, advanced technology, cutting-edge safety features and encouraging performance. This car combines the sophistication of electric vehicles with SUV capabilities.

In dimensions, e VITARA has a length of 4,275 mm, a width of 1,800 mm, and a height of 1,635 mm built on a new platform called HEARTECT-e. This BEV previously appeared in Indonesia in the form of an EVX concept car, which received positive enthusiasm from the public.

For overseas markets, this manufacturer from Japan provides powertrain variants in three types, namely 106 kW and 128 kW with 189 Nm torques with two-wheeled (2WD) and 135 kW with a 300 Nm peak torque driven 4WD AllGrip-e. This is assisted by a choice of 49 kWh and 61 kWh batteries for eVitara.
