Trump Calls BRICS Efforts To Weaken Dollars Will Have A Bad Impact On The World
JAKARTA - US President Donald Trump said BRICS' efforts to weaken dollars could have a serious impact on America and the world. This was stated by Russian news agency Sputnik.
"It will be something terrible for our country. It will be bad for the world. They want to weaken the dollar. Six countries gather. They want to weaken the dollar," Trump told reporters at the White House quoting Antara.
BRICS is a group formed in 2006 by Russia, China, India and Brazil. South Africa joined in 2011. Since 2024, other countries, including Indonesia, have been accepted as members.

In January, Trump threatened to impose a 100 percent tariff on all imports from BRICS if the bloc tried to launch a new currency or support other currencies to replace the US dollar.
It was previously reported that BRICS has discussed the possibility of expanding the use of national currencies in transactions and creating common currencies, but there has been no final decision on it.
