JAKARTA - Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General of Police Karyoto directly inspected the work of the Kemacetan Urai Team at a number of points prone to congestion in Jakarta. This is to ensure smooth traffic, especially during peak hours and heavy traffic.
"We want to ensure that this team is ready to serve optimally in overcoming traffic density. Therefore, direct inspection in the field is very important to assess the effectiveness of the strategy that has been prepared," he said, quoting Antara.
Karyoto also explained the live review on Friday (14/2) night to see the traffic conditions at the two main points that often experience vehicle congestion.
"Traffic Light (TL) Kuningan and TL Mampang Prapatan, officers carried out traffic engineering to break down the density, especially at the Mampang Prapatan intersection, from 18.30 WIB to 21.15 WIB," he said.
From the results of the patrol, according to Karyoto, it can be seen that the team has moved quickly in unraveling density, regulating traffic flow, and giving advice to motorists to stay orderly and follow the rules.
In addition, Karyoto also reminded the public to always comply with traffic rules and follow the directions of officers in the field for the sake of mutual smoothness.
"We continue to try to overcome congestion with various strategies in the field. However, this effort will not succeed without awareness and cooperation from the community. We urge all road users to remain disciplined and prioritize safety," he said.
He also highlighted a number of bad habits of motorists who contribute to traffic jams, such as random parking, running red lights and using sidewalks as alternative routes.
