Egy Maulana Vikri's Burden Is Too Heavy, Changing The Result In 10 Minutes Is Not Easy
JAKARTA - The name Egy Maulana Vikri is busy being discussed. The Indonesian national team midfielder is considered unable to help Lechia Gdansk avoid a 0-3 defeat in the Polish league.
Egy entered in the 80th minute in the match between his team against Lech Poznan in the 26th match of Ekstraklasa, Tuesday, April 21 local time. He replaces team captain Flavio Paixao.
Playing 10 minutes, Egy is expected to bring changes to his team, which at that time was three goals behind. However, Egy is certainly not an angel. Playing short and being required to be a differentiator is not easy.
Moreover, previously Egy was reportedly injured. Instead of being rested by coach Piotr Stokowiec, Egy was instead brought to INEA Stadium and even played.
The match against Lech Poznan is Egy's sixth match in the Polish League for the 2020/2021 season. This match is an opportunity for Egy to make a comeback after being sent off for the last time on 23 November last year.
Total Egy has played for 72 minutes from six matches and always comes down as a substitute. Egy's only starter appearance occurred when his team faced the 18th place in Poland's third caste competition (II Liga) in a trial match last January.
The Medan-born midfielder scored one goal in the 28th minute while helping his team to win 9-1. But, it was an unofficial match. The pressure Egy received was definitely different.
Hoping that Egy can change the results of the match in a matter of minutes in official matches is not a wise thing. Especially in the opponent's cage, even without spectators.
Lechia's defeat was also caused by the players themselves. They conceded three goals long before Egy entered the field. Former club Robert Lewandowski was able to score three goals in less than 15 minutes of the second half.
All of the goals were scored from 4 shots on goal. Effective and deadly.
