SUKABUMI - A man with the initials D (27) from Sukabumi is suspected of having hallucinations after breathing glue and trying to commit suicide by climbing a transmitter tower in Nangewer, Sukabumi. Luckily, his action was thwarted by the police.

"After receiving a telephone report from the Sukajaya Village Head regarding a resident who tried to commit suicide by climbing a transmitter tower in Sukajaya Village, Sukabumi District, we immediately went to the location to persuade the man to come down," said Sukabumi Police Chief Riki Saputra, quoted from ANTARA, Friday, February 14.

According to Riki, residents had persuaded D to come down several times, but he had tried to jump. After the officers came and gave a persuasive approach, D finally agreed to get out of the tower.

It is known that the man was under pressure due to economic problems. Allegedly, he also took illegal hard drugs and breathed a disgrace glue, which caused hallucinations and encouraged him to take the reckless action.

"His reckless action was triggered by an unstable mental condition and the influence of drugs, liquor, and blackboard glue," added Riki.

After being secured, D was escorted back to his house which was not far from the scene. To the police, he admitted that he was afraid of being scolded by his family and cried several times, while promising not to repeat his actions.
