Bali DPRD Asks FINNS Beach Club To Close Until AMDAL Permit Is Released

DENPASAR - DPRD Bali asked the FINNS beach club located in Berawa, Badung Regency, to temporarily close until their AMDAL permit was fulfilled.

"We recommend temporarily closing activities in FINNS while waiting for legal and administrative processes in accordance with applicable regulations, starting today FINNS must carry out these recommendations in an orderly manner and not commit violations," said Chairman of Commission I of the Bali DPRD I Nyoman Budiutama as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, February 13.

The temporary direction for this beach club stems from the alleged case of tarnishing religion with a massive fireworks display in the coastal area when Hindus were carrying out a ceremony in October 2024.

After this foreign-owned company was traced, it turned out that many permits were not completed, one of which was the fact that this club on the beach did not have environmental approval for its type of business.

"The basis for consideration is the acknowledgment that what was carried out (the fireworks demonstration) had tarnished our religion, then violated the Bali Governor Regulation Number 25 of 2020 Article 13, has been given a strong warning for the 60-day process, but has not yet completed the licensing, so we provide recommendations for temporary closure, which are closed operational activities that have not fulfilled the permit," he said.

Based on this directive, the Bali DPRD also asked the Bali Satpol PP to participate in overseeing the progress of this recommendation in the field and hoped that in the future it would not only run after cases emerged.

Head of the Bali Provincial Tourism Office, Tjok Bagus Pemayun, added that apart from the AMDAL permit and those as foreign investment efforts (PMA) had not left the central government, it turned out that a number of violations were found in the aftermath of the blasphemy case.

One of them is their restaurant permit, where FINNS registered with a 200-seat restaurant, but in the field 500 seats were found.

On December 19, 2024, the Bali Provincial Government then visited the FINNS club to see their progress, a restaurant-related permit was launched, but not with an AMDAL permit that for more than 90 days there was no news.

Finn's Management Community Wayan Dormitory said it respects this directive and will soon complement licensing.

He has not been able to confirm how long this beach club will be closed, because the PMA process is entirely carried out in the central government so that it can only wait.

"On the basis, we have to complete first, there is a closure for the operation of our beach club, we can't do anything other than comply with government regulations," the Dormitory said.
