Not Only Because Of Conflict, The Acting Governor Of DKI Calls Brawls In Jakarta Also Carried Out For Content

JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta, Teguh Setyabudi, said that brawls in Jakarta were not only caused by conflicts between community groups. According to Teguh, brawls can also be intentional to be carried out in order to create content to be exhibited on social media.

"So there was a brawl that was indeed experienced because of the problems of social promotion, but it turned out that there was also a brawl because of content," said Teguh at the East Jakarta Mayor's Office, Thursday, February 13.

Teguh admitted that this fact was based on the results of a study by the DKI Provincial Government based on previous brawls.

Therefore, the DKI Provincial Government will conduct further discussions to find solutions to reduce the number of brawls in Jakarta. One of them discussed efforts to prevent the emergence of brawl content on social media with platform managers.

"We also discussed several meetings, including yesterday we also spoke with, for example TikTok, we will also invite Instagram or other platforms, including of course we really hope that later with communication related to brawls," explained Teguh.

On that occasion, Teguh also responded to the pedestrian bridge (JPO) facility under the Kalibata Flyover, Rawajati, South Jakarta which was closed because it was an access for residents involved in a brawl.

Although it was done to prevent brawls, the closure of the JPO under the Kalibata Flyover was complained by a number of people because they had difficulty crossing, thus hampering their daily activities. Teguh admitted that he would review the opening of the JPO under Flover Kalibata again.

"Later, we will coordinate with the mayor, with security there, as well as with the Highways Office and the Transportation Service, and the Satpol PP. We check," said Teguh.

"At least what we will do is the best, but it is also seen that it is a policy that is reactive in nature, we must also study it. If it is opened, we will see later," he continued.
