Budget Affected By Pangkas 38 Percent, Trade Minister: Now IDR 1.13 Trillion Remains

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Trade's (Kemendag) budget for 2025, has cut 38.8 percent of the total budget ceiling of IDR 1.85 trillion. This means that the remaining budget obtained is IDR 1.13 trillion.

The Minister of Trade (Mendag) Budi Santoso revealed that this budget efficiency was carried out as a follow-up to Presidential Instruction (Inpres) number 1 of 2025.

"The Ministry of Trade's ceiling after the reconstruction became IDR 1.13 trillion from the original IDR 1.85 trillion," he said in a working meeting with Commission VI of the DPR, Jakarta, Thursday, February 13.

Along with the budget reconstruction, Budi said that employee spending was set at Rp694 billion, and Rp438.6 billion to fulfill basic public service operations and support for the focus of the Ministry of Trade's work program.

Despite the budget cuts policy, Budi emphasized that export improvement programs for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), as well as domestic market security will continue to run optimally.

"We continue to focus on the work program of the Ministry of Trade, namely securing the domestic market, expanding the export market and MSMEs can be exported," he said.

This budget efficiency is carried out as a follow-up to Presidential Instruction (Inpres) number 1 of 2025 concerning Expenditure Efficiency in the Implementation of the APBN and APBD for the 2025 fiscal year.
