Budget Cuts IDR 193 Billion, KESDM Geological Agency Ensures Disaster Monitoring Activities Remain Priority
JAKARTA - Head of the Geological Agency of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Muhammad Wafid revealed that the efficiency of the budget that occurred did not affect geological disaster monitoring activities.
Wafid also said that there was no termination of employment (PHK) for monitoring officers in the field.
"If it's related to layoffs, God willing, we don't have one. But what is clear is that we will adjust everything," Wafid said in an online press conference, Thursday, February 13.
Wafid said, due to the efficiency that occurred, the Geological Agency then made a priority scale for activities and prioritized disaster mitigation activities.
"We still have to continue to carry out activities, especially anticipation. And we make projects, which ones routinely make our maps behind, the important thing is first security, services for safety and requirements. This is a priority for the current budget conditions," explained Wafid.
Wafid ensured that the Geological Agency would continue to provide maximum service amid budget cuts of Rp193 billion despite routine adjustments.
"But as long as we can still do a study to produce the output, we can do it in the office, but what can't be replaced like field activities we still optimize," said Wafid.
