JCI On Thursday Closed Slightly Higher 0.48 Percent To 4,649.08 Level
JAKARTA - The Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) closed slightly higher on Thursday, April 9 trading. JCI closed up 0.48 percent or 22.38 points to the level of 4,649.08.
In closing the trade, it was recorded that 203 stocks rose, 194 stocks fell, and 137 stocks remained unchanged. The trading volume was recorded at 7.80 billion shares, and transactions were worth IDR 6.57 trillion.
Binaartha Sekuritas analyst M. Nafan Aji Gustama said market players are looking forward to the OPEC meeting in order to stabilize world oil prices.
"They appreciate Trump's commitment to urge the US Conference to approve a loan program to fund all economic activities in the US which are sluggish due to the COVID-19 outbreak. On the other hand, there is hope that the US jobless claims data is projected to decline," Nafan told VOI.
He added that market players also appreciate the government's commitment to maintaining an inclusive and sustainable level of domestic macroeconomic fundamental stability.
"On the other hand, the strengthening of the rupiah against the US dollar also provides positive sentiment for the index," he explained.
This afternoon, stocks that were among the top gainers included, PT Envy Technologies Indonesia Tbk (ENVY) which rose 34.41 percent to Rp125, PT Bekasi Fajar Industrial Estate (BEST) which rose 16.67 percent to Rp140, and PT Bank Pensiunan Nasional Syaria Tbk (BTPS) which strengthened 10.53 percent to Rp2,940.
While stocks that were in the top losers were PT Matahari Department Store Tbk (LPPF) which fell 31.04 percent to Rp1,230, PT Transcoal Pacific Tbk (TCPI) which fell 6.80 percent to Rp4,520. and PT J Resources Asia Pasifik Tbk (PSAB) which fell 4.33 percent to Rp199.
