Hasto's Pretrial Decision Read Today, KPK Hopes Objective Judge
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) hopes that the sole judge of the South Jakarta District Court (PN) will objectively decide the pretrial lawsuit filed by the Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto. The legal bureau is said to have presented the basis for determining the suspect during the trial.
This was conveyed by KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika ahead of Hasto's pretrial hearing which was read out today, Thursday, February 13.
"KPK hopes that the sole pretrial judge of the suspect HK can objectively see and assess all the evidence and arguments presented by the legal bureau team," said Tessa in a written statement, Thursday, February 13.
These various evidences and arguments, continued Tessa, should further strengthen Hasto's role in the bribery case for the interim replacement (PAW) of members of the Indonesian House of Representatives and the obstruction of the investigation. "So that it has confidence to decide the pretrial lawsuit filed by HK brother must be rejected," said the spokesman with the investigator's background.
Previously reported, the KPK developed an interim replacement bribery (PAW) case that ensnared former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan and his fugitive, Harun Masiku. Two people were later named as suspects, namely PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto and Donny Tri Istiqomah who are PDIP cadres as well as lawyers.

It didn't stop there, Hasto was also a suspect in the obstruction of the investigation. He is suspected of trying to obstruct the legal process, one of which is by asking Harun to damage his cellphone and run away after the hand arrest operation (OTT) was carried out.
The determination of the suspect was then sued by Hasto's camp to the South Jakarta District Court (PN). The verdict against the pretrial submitted will be read out on Thursday, February 13.
