IBM And Our Cities Collaborate For AI Projects To Create Tough Cities
JAKARTA - IBM through IBM Sustainability Accelerator announced its latest collaboration with Kota Kita, which aims to enhance social innovation in cities around the world.
IBM and Kota Kita will collaborate for two years and in two phases. Starting with IBM Garage, then the Development and Implementation phase, IBM experts.
Through this collaboration, IBM and Kota Kita will develop a new AI model to identify and respond to the needs of Samarinda residents affected by climate pressure.
The model will be designed to consider physical vulnerabilities, such as natural disasters, as well as economic and social variables, including demographic growth and access to clean water.
This new model is also expected to encourage the development of resilience improvement initiatives and allow the implementation of new projects to reduce the vulnerability of the local community.
"Technology has always been an important tool in facilitating such collaboration. Through IBM Sustainability Accelerator, Kota Kita hopes to explore how AI-based solutions can complement city planning in a participative manner, support data-based and community-centered climate actions," said Rizqa Hidayani, Program Manager for Urban Resilience, Kota Kita.

Meanwhile, Justina Nixon-Saintil as IBM Vice President and Chief Impact Officer, also believes that AI has the potential to open a new era in economy and innovation for people around the world, helping them overcome current and future challenges.
