Meeting Prabowo In Bogor, Erdogan Reveals Turkey's Commitment To Working On IKN

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan conveyed Turkey's commitment to support the development of the Indonesian capital city of Nusantara (IKN).

This was conveyed by Erdogan during a meeting with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto at the Bogor Presidential Palace, Wednesday, February 12.

"Especially, we are also committed to participating in the construction of the Nusantara Capital (IKN) project by involving our world-class construction company," said Erdogan.

Furthermore, he also highlighted how important the expansion of cooperation in a number of fields between Indonesia and Turkey, starting from agriculture, the halal industry, the economy, and others.

"We also discussed the importance of people-to-people relations between the two countries that are tourism destinations. We also emphasized the importance of flight carrier flight volume for their respective countries," said Erdogan.

"Last year, 203,000 tourists visited from Indonesia and from Turkey as many as 50,000 tourists visited [to Indonesia]. Although this figure is very encouraging, I think this figure is still below our common potential," he continued.

On the same occasion, Erdogan also highlighted the high enthusiasm of Indonesian students for Turkish scholarships. "We view as many as 5,000 Indonesian students studying in Turkey as cultural ambassadors," he concluded.
