Hasto On Pretrial Decision Tomorrow: We Obey Completely

Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto admitted that he would respect the judge's decision in the pretrial hearing at the South Jakarta District Court tomorrow.

"We leave everything to the judge's decision. Whatever the decision, we will fully obey it," said Hasto at the PDIP DPP Party School, Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta, Wednesday, February 12.

When asked about preparations for the pretrial decision on the determination of the status of a suspect by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Hasto quoted the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Sunarto as a professor at Airlangga University.

This quote, continued Hasto, began when asked by PDIP Chairman Megawati Soekarnoputri. To Hasto, Megawati assessed that Sunarto's statement presented a glimmer of hope for fair law enforcement.

"We read from the inauguration speech of Prof. Dr. Sunarto, who was still Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme Court (MA) and now he is the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court in his last inauguration speech, Mrs. Mega called me at that time, 'this is a glimmer of hope, how justice is right, because every judge makes a justice decision based on the Almighty Godhead," he explained.

Sunarto's statement quoted by Hasto said that each judge must find true justice. Not only viewed formally and materially, but must look at its dialectics, its spiritual atmosphere, human aspects and all of its education.

"Indeed, there are many things that emphasize that justice will be upheld. So, whatever the decision is, we respect, we fully entrust to the judges we believe will seek justice," said Hasto.

Previously reported, PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto did not accept being named a suspect so he submitted a pretrial to the South Jakarta District Court (PN). He was entangled in the bribery case for the management of interim replacement (PAW) members of the Indonesian House of Representatives together with Donny Tri Istiqomah, who is a lawyer and cadre of PDIP.

In addition, Hasto was also named a suspect in the obstruction of the investigation. He is suspected of obstructing the KPK's move to arrest Harun Masiku in the 2020 arrest operation (OTT). Registered lawsuits with case number 5/Pid.Pra/2025/PN JKT.SEL and Djumyanto act as sole judges.

On the one hand, the KPK believes that it will win the pretrial proposed by Hasto Kristiyanto. This confidence arises because the legal bureau has prepared proof that the determination of the status of the suspect is valid.

"We have to be optimistic," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika to reporters in Jakarta, Monday, February 10.
