Indonesia Qualifies For Quarter-Finals BAMTC 2025

JAKARTA Indonesia has certainly qualified for the quarter-finals of the 2025 Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championship (BAMTC) after Malaysia collapsed against Hong Kong.

Malaysia took to the bottom of Group B after losing 2-3 at the Conson Gymnasium, Qingdao, China, on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, afternoon WIB.

"Indonesia is certain to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championship 2025," reads PBSI's statement on their official Instagram account.

Indonesia has not actually played the group's last match against Malaysia. The duel between the two new countries will take place on Thursday, February 13, 2025.

The results obtained by Malaysia made Indonesia at least qualify with the group runner-up status. If you can take two points in the match against Malaysia, Indonesia will win the group.

"Winning or at least taking points from the two sectors will bring the Red-White out as the leader of Group B. Let's fight!" read the further statement from PBSI.

Indonesia currently sits comfortably at the top of Group B. This position was obtained after previously winning 5-0 against Hong Kong in the first match.

Malaysia also still has a chance to qualify for the quarter-finals. However, their task is to be able to ensure victory over Indonesia to overtake Hong Kong.

In the history of the tournament, Indonesia's best achievement in this event was a bronze medal in the second edition in 2019. As for the last edition of 2023, Indonesia returned in the quarter-finals.
