Jonathan Doesn't Burden Himself On Keeping His Title At All England 2025
JAKARTA Jonathan Christie did not greet himself with the target of having to defend his title when participating in the All England 2025.
All England 2025 is scheduled to take place on March 11-16, 2025. Jonathan will be present as the defending champion in the world's oldest badminton event.
"It doesn't stop that the target must be champions. At least I try my best. Maybe I want to match it too, but that's not the main target," said Jonathan.
Jonathan last year ended the drought of the Indonesian men's singles title at the All England event which lasted 30 years since Hariyanto Arbi did so in 1994.
The 2018 Asian Games gold medalist managed to climb the highest podium after defeating his colleague in the final match at the PBSI National Training Center, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting.

Jonathan said that during the next one month of preparation he only wanted to get an ideal physical condition after having felt pain in his thigh and waist during the quarter-finals of the Indonesia Masters 2025.
"The goal is one focus in his body condition first. The current condition that I am facing is like what. So, yes, the focus is there first," said Jonatan.
Jonathan has appeared in three tournaments this year. However, the 27-year-old badminton player has not secured a single title.
His best journey in that period was to reach the final at the Indonesia Masters 2025. Unfortunately, he lost against Thailand's men's singles, Kunlavut Vitidsarn.
