A 2-year-old Boy Was Found Dead After Being Dragged By The Current In East Lombok
The joint SAR team evacuated the body of a boy named Alfi (2) who was reported missing when he was swept away by the current in an irrigation channel in Pijit Utara Village, Keruak District, East Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) during heavy rains accompanied by strong winds or extreme weather.
"The victim was found dead about one kilometer from the location of the disappearance," said Head of the Operations and Alert Section of the Mataram SAR Office, Saidar Rahmanjaya, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 12.
The incident began when the victim's father was feeding livestock with him, the victim then asked permission to urinate, Tuesday (11/02).
"However, the victim did not return and allegedly fell into a ditch located about 10 meters from the goat pen," he said.
Then the SAR Team that received the report was immediately dispatched to conduct a search and coordinate with the elements involved at the scene, namely the SAR Unit of East Lombok, East Lombok Damkarmat, Keruak Police, Keruak Koramil, local communities, and others.
"Conducting a search with a joint SAR team starting from the scene of the incident by following the river," he said.
After a search was carried out, the victim was found and immediately evacuated to the Keruak Regional General Hospital, East Lombok for further treatment.
