Police Intervene, Investigate Fire At Kendari City Mall
KENDARI - Kendari City Police (Polresta) investigated the cause of the fire that occurred in a mall shopping center in Bende Village, Kadia District, Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi Province.
Head of Public Relations Section Iptu Harudin said that based on the results of the initial investigation, the fire began when security guards heard alarms on the first floor.
"When the witness was in front of the Sulgio outlet building, the witness saw smoke and there was already a large fire from inside the building," said Haridin as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, January 12.
He mentioned that when he saw the incident, the witness then called other security colleagues and tried to enter the building to find a source of fire.
"Meanwhile, other security guards tried to extinguish the fire, but the fire had spread and burned it to the outlet next to it," he said.
Haridin explained that until now his party was still conducting an investigation regarding the fire incident.
Previously, it was reported that the Kendari City Fire Department deployed as many as 70 personnel to extinguish a building fire at a mall in Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi Province.
Junaiddin Umar said that reports regarding the fire incident came in at around 06.30 WITA from local residents who informed that a fire had occurred at a mall in the Bende Village area, Kadia District, Kendari City.

"All of our personnel were deployed in this fire, about 70 people were deployed to extinguish the fire," said Junaidin Umar.
He mentioned that in handling the fire at the mall, his party also deployed a number of fleets, ranging from water pump cars, ambulances, to rescue cars.
