Bulungan Police Secure Motoris SB Iqzza Express Accident
TANJUNG SELOR - Bulungan Police, North Kalimantan (Kaltara) secured motorist SB Iqzza Express who had an accident on the Temangga River, Tanjung Palas Tengah District, Bulungan, North Kalimantan (Kaltara).
Bulungan Police Chief Kombes Rofiko Yunianto through the Head of Public Relations of the Bulungan Police, Iptu Magdalena Lawai, said the motorcycle SB Iqzza Express with the initials MH (24) was secured after undergoing a medical examination at the hospital.
"We have secured the SB Iqzza Express authori at the Bulungan Police for questioning or questioning," said Magdalena, Tuesday, February 11.
"At the time of the incident, motorist was also injured and had to undergo a medical examination at the hospital along with other passengers," he continued.
Magdalena revealed that the inspection of the motorist was to determine the number of passengers she was loading and how it was before the speedboat overturned.
"This motoris juga mengalami luka-luka dan trauma, jadi belum bisa lebih detail dimintai keterangan. Selain itu, motoris ini juga keluarga besar dari kelompok," ungkapnya.
From witness testimony, it was stated that the incident occurred when the groups returned from Tias Village to Tanjung Selor using 2 speedboat units from attending weddings.
"So the speedboat used is a speedboat from the family of the group, while on the way one of the speedboats had an accident. Currently there are 3 people who have not been found and 4 people have been found dead," he explained.
Previously, the Kaltara Police Chief, Inspector General Hary Sudwijanto, went directly to the location of the water accident in the waters of the Kayan River, SP 6 Salimbatu Village, Tanjung Palas Tengah District, Bulungan Regency.
The Kaltara Police Chief together with a joint team from Basarnas, Polairud, and the TNI immediately conducted a sweep to find passengers who were still missing.
"The joint team has moved to several strategic points to speed up the search process. Our priority is to save victims who have not been found," said the Kapolda.
After reviewing the accident site and leading the search, the Kaltara Police Chief also visited the survivors who were being treated at the Tanjung Selor Hospital.
"The sweeping operation is still ongoing, with the help of rubber boats, sonar equipment, and divers from Basarnas. The Kaltara Police have also opened an information post for the victim's family to provide updates regarding the progress of the search," explained Inspector General Hary.
Based on data from the North Kalimantan Regional Police, there were 64 passengers who boarded two motorboats, namely Iqza Express and SB Ikbal.
A total of 57 people were declared safe, 4 passengers died, and 3 other passengers were still being searched or declared missing.
Some of the survivors were previously evacuated to the Ikbal speedboat near the accident site.
