Jambi Police Arrest 6 Illegal Oil Mining Perpetrators
JAMBI - The Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) of the Jambi Police arrested six suspected perpetrators of illegal oil mining in two different locations, namely in South Bahar, Muaro Jambi and Bungku Village, Batanghari.
Deputy Director of Criminal Investigation at the Jambi Police, AKBP Taufik Nurmandia, said the six illegal mining actors worked as oil miners.
The first disclosure was on January 22, 2025. At that time, the police arrested DS who was carrying out oil mining activities in Bungku Village.
Not far from the location where DS was arrested, the police also arrested other perpetrators, namely R and RA. Both also claimed to work as oil miners.
At this location, the police confiscated two modified two-wheeled vehicles, two iron canting pipes, two rope rollers and one patrol.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday (4/2) the police arrested three other mining actors without permission in South Bahar, Muaro Jambi.
Arriving at the location, officers found three people resting in a hut after carrying out illegal mining activities.
The three perpetrators who were arrested each had the initials M (30), ADM (23), and S (44). The three perpetrators served as Molots in illegal oil and gas mining activities.

In addition, the police also confiscated a number of evidences, including one modified motorbike, one canting pipe, two rope rollers, two patrols, two automatic boxible units, two pump jet engines, and two jerry cans containing fluids suspected of being petroleum.
The perpetrators were charged with Article 52 of Law Number 22 of 2001 concerning oil and gas.
They face a maximum sentence of six years in prison and a fine of up to IDR 60 billion.
