IKN Authority Official Mohammed Ali Berawi Resigns, What's The Reason?

JAKARTA - Deputy for Green and Digital Transformation (THD) Mohammed Ali Berawi resigned from his position at the Archipelago Capital Authority (OIKN).

Ali conveyed that his resignation application had been processed and was waiting for the Presidential Decree (Keppres) on this matter.

"Good friends of the director, today my resignation will begin to process as Deputy for THD OIKN. Hopefully, my Presidential Decree will run well and smoothly," Ali said in a written statement, Tuesday, February 11.

Along with the news of the resignation, a disposition letter submitted by the University of Indonesia (UI) also circulated asking for Ali's return from Ali's assignment as Professor at the University of Indonesia.

The letter was issued on February 7, 2025, in which the Dean of UI Kemas Ridwan Kurniawan requested that Ali Berawi return to being a Professor at the UI Faculty of Engineering which will be effective in the even semester of the 2024/2025 school year.

"Together, we submitted a request to return the assignment of Civil Servants (PNS) to the initial agency, namely on behalf of Mohammed Ali Berawi, the rank of Junior Main Trustees," he said in a letter submitted to OIKN.

The letter was then received by the Head of OIKN Basuki Hadimuljono on Monday, February 10.

In his letter, Basuki agreed to be able to process the disposition according to the procedure.

As for Ali Berawi's resignation from the ranks of the OIKN officials, this is not the first time this has happened.

The reason is that former OIKN Chief Bambang Susantono and his deputy, Dhoni Rahajoe, have also submitted their resignations in June 2024.

Then, followed by the resignation of OIKN Secretary General Jaka Santos and OIKN Deputy Facilities and Infrastructure Silvia Halim in the same year.
