Perbasi Call 24 Women's Basketball Players Preparation For SEA Games 2025

JAKARTA The Indonesian Basketball Association (Perbasi) through the National Team Agency summoned 24 women's basketball players to prepare for the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand at the end of the year.

The names who were called have undergone a training camp at the Cahaya Lestari Surabaya Sports Center, Surabaya, East Java, starting Monday, February 10, 2025.

In addition to facing the SEA Games in December 2025, these names will also be prepared to take part in the FIBA Asia Women's Cup Division A event which will be held in July 2025.

The majority of players who have made history in winning gold medals at the 2023 SEA Games Cambodia are on the calling list. In addition, Perbasi also includes naturalized player Kimberley Pierre-Louis.

Other names on the list are Nur Indah Qur'ani (YMS Bogor), Diva Intan Nurfadillah (GMC Cirebon), Erinindita Prias Madafa (Sahabat Semarang), Erlita Christiana (Surabaya Fever), Melisa Erika Saleh (CLS Surabaya), Thasya Hery Saputera (Surabaya Fever), Ivana Ardelia (East Java), Natasya Amelia Putri (Surabaya Fever), and Byrlia Sheron Tumanduk (North Sulawesi).

Coach Marlina Herawan said that the number of players on the list will now shrink gradually during training camp activities. In March 2025, there will be only 18 players.

"We will continue to monitor the progress of the players so that they will approach the tournament, we will get a composition of 12 players," he said in a statement received by the media.

In this summons there is no named Peyeton Whitted. That's because the player is strengthening his team in the Professional Basketball League in Belgium.

In addition, Peloton is also still under contract with his team when the Indonesian Women's Basketball National Team competes in the FIBA Asia Women's Cup Division A July 2025.

Another obstacle is that FIBA Asia Women's Cup Division A also only allows one naturalized player.
