New IMac Colors Powered By The Apple M1 Chip
JAKARTA - Apple provides a refresher for the Mac line. Apple's flagship All-in-One computer device is already powered by an M1 chip like the MacBook Air Pro.
The iMac, which was released at the Spring Loaded event, Wednesday, April 21, this morning comes with the distinctive bright colors of the iMac Color a few years ago. The design language has also changed like the new iPad or iPhone 12, which appears slimmer.
Apple calls this sleek design iMac to suit the use of the M1 chip. The body is very thin, Apple said the iMac volume fell by 50 percent compared to the previous generation.
The new iMac screen measures 24 inches, with a 4.5K resolution Retina Display equipped with True Tone technology. With a thickness of only 11.5 mm, Apple has successfully immersed two small cooling fans paired on the M1 chip.
They also promise this iMac is cooler and quieter, compared to the previous iMac which has a bigger cooling system. Apple also made an overhaul of the cable management by applying a magnetic connector like the MagSafe cable on the MacBook.
For the highest variants of the iMac, this magnetic connector is also integrated with an ethernet connection via the same cable. The lowest model features two USB Type-C/Thunderbolt ports on the back.
Along with the new iMac, Apple also released several accessories such as a keyboard, mouse, and trackpad with matching colors. This keyboard also has a Touch ID button as user access to log in.
The price of the new iMac starts at US$ 1,299 or around Rp18 million, while the highest variant is priced at US$ 1,499. In total there are seven new color choices for the iMac with 8GB RAM variants and 256GB SSDs which can be upgraded up to 16GB RAM and 2TB for storage capacity.
