PSDKP KKP Supervises Demolition Of Sea Fences In Bekasi Regarding Reclamation Violations Without Permit

JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Marine and Fishery Resources Supervision (PSDKP) of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) directly supervises the demolition of the sea fence which was carried out independently by PT TRPN in Segarajaya Village, Tarumajaya District, Bekasi.

"Today's demolition is part of a follow-up to administrative sanctions imposed for violations of the use of marine space and reclamation without permission," Special Staff of the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Doni Ismanto Darwin told ANTARA, Tuesday, February 11.

Doni explained that the sea fence along about 3.3 km made of bamboo and soil dredging had previously been sealed by PSDKP because it had an impact on fishermen's access and coastal ecosystems.

"The Director General of PSDKP KKP Pung Nugroho Saksono is present at the location to ensure that the demolition process runs according to the provisions and without obstacles," said Doni.

administrative sanctions for violations committed by PT TRPN include Approval of the Compliance of Marine Spatial Utilization Activities (PKKPRL) and reclamation permits that are not in accordance with the provisions. These sanctions are imposed based on PP Number 21 of 2021, PP Number 85 of 2021, and Permen KP Number 31 of 2021.

"PT TRPN is subject to three types of administrative sanctions, namely administrative fines, demolition of buildings, and restoration of marine space functions to restore the ecosystem and ensure access to coastal communities is maintained," said Doni.

The process of dismantling the sea fence was carried out while waiting for the determination of the value of the administrative fine based on the calculation results by the Public Appraisal Service Office (KJPP).

The KKP emphasized that this supervision aims to ensure compliance with regulations and restore the function of the sea space so that fishermen can go to sea more easily.

Previously, PSDKP had sealed sea fencing activities without a permit in Bekasi waters, West Java, on January 15, 2025.

The sealing was carried out because the sea fence did not have a PKKPRL permit, even though there had been a warning letter to stop the activity.

Minister of ATR/BPN Nusron Wahid also plans to summon three companies related to the sea fence in Bekasi waters, including PT TRPN, to request the cancellation of certificates of ownership of the marine space involved in reclamation without permission.
