The Attorney General's Office Searches The Office Of The Directorate General Of Oil And Gas
The search conducted by investigators from the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the Directorate General of Oil and Gas (Migas) office was related to allegations of corruption in the management of crude oil and refinery products of PT Pertamina.
"It is true, investigators conducted a search at the office of the Directorate General of Oil and Gas of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources on Jalan HR Rasuna Said, Kuningan, Jakarta. The search was carried out in three rooms," said Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) of the Attorney General's Office (AGO), Harli Siregar, Tuesday, February 10.
During the search, investigators confiscated a number of evidences, including five boxes of documents and electronic evidence in the form of laptops and cellphones.
This search had sparked speculation of investigations related to the scarcity of 3 kilograms of LPG that occurred after the new policy of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources.
However, Harli emphasized that this action was a legal step in investigating oil and gas governance which was considered problematic.
"This action shows the Attorney General's responsiveness to the issue of oil and gas governance which has a broad impact on the community. Including of course, what happened a few days ago was related to the scarcity of 3 kilograms of LPG in the market," he explained.
Harli explained that this investigation includes allegations of corruption in the management of crude oil and refinery products of PT Pertamina, including subholding and contractor cooperation contracts (KKKS) from 2018 to 2023.
"Tempus delicti perkara ini adalah 20182023," ujarnya.
In this case, the AGO has also examined 70 witnesses. However, Harli has not disclosed the suspect's name, arguing that this case is still in the process of being investigated.
