Prabowo Praises Khofifah, A People's Oriented Leader

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto praised Khofifah Indar Parawansa, who is a elected governor candidate for the 2024 East Java Pilkada as a leader with a people-oriented figure and an extraordinary figure.

Although he was only close to Khofifah last year, Prabowo assessed that he was very dedicated to the people.

"This can be seen from the wisdom of knowing the potential of the region well," Prabowo said at the XVIII Muslimat Nahdlatul Ulama Congress in Surabaya, East Java, Monday, February 10, as reported by ANTARA.

"Seorang pemimpin rakyat kita bisa tahu kalau memahami atau tidak kehidupan rakyat, memahami atau tidak, menguasai atau tidak, dia menguasaikan itu," sambungnya.

Not stopping related to regional leadership, Prabowo believes that Khofifah's people-oriented leadership is also reflected in his programs as General Chair of Muslimat Nahdlatul Ulama (NU).

As the highest peak of the NU women's organization, Khofifah is considered by Prabowo to have succeeded in presenting programs that can support the improvement of people's welfare in line with the government program which is now guarded by the Red and White Cabinet.

One of the programs praised by Prabowo and initiated by Khofifah in her leadership in Muslimat NU is Mustika Darling, which stands for Muslimat NU Awareness of the Environment.

For Prabowo, this program is not only an effort to support the movement to protect the environment, but also a reflection in carrying out faith as a Muslim.

"It is true that Mrs. Khofifah can catch us, we must now be aware of the environment, we must maintain cleanliness, and even then we can learn that cleanliness is part of faith. Cleanliness, cleanliness, cleanliness, and beauty. We need to take care of our surroundings," said Prabowo.

Another program that is considered no less innovative is the Mustika Mesem, which is a Muslimat NU, which alleviates Extreme Poverty.

Prabowo said that Mustika Mesem is in line with its program so that it can eliminate extreme poverty that is still encountered in Indonesia.

"The Muslim commitment to participate in eradicating [the community from] extreme poverty. This Mesem must be a noble goal. I also take that as a call for my struggle as President of the Republic of Indonesia which is mandated by the people. That I make a task that I have to do," he said.

Therefore, Prabowo appreciated the figure of Khofifah and was grateful to be able to get to know and cooperate as a partner who was able to help her achieve her position as an Indonesian leader.
