KAI Commuter Conducts A New KRL Facilities Dynamic Test On The Bogor-Jakarta City Track

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia or KAI Commuter will conduct a dynamical test trip on a new KRL series. This testing process will be carried out on the Bogor-Jakarta City route.

For your information, at the beginning of the implementation of the 2025 Railway Travel Graphics (GAPEKA), KAI Commuter has brought in a new series of 12 KRL trains from China. The train will be used as a substitute for KRL facilities that will enter a conservation period.

VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter, Joni Martinus said that the dynamical trial of the trip on the KRL series starts today, Monday, February 10 to Thursday, February 13.

Joni said that this test was in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Transportation Number PM 49 of 2023 concerning Standards, Procedures for Testing, and Certification of Normal Speed Train Feasibility by Self-Administer.

Following this rule, continued Joni, every new train facility must pass a dynamical trial before operating to transport passengers.

"This dynamic test is also to ensure the operational safety and comfort of users later when operating regularly," he said in an official statement, Monday, February 10.

Furthermore, Joni said that according to the regulation as well, the new KRL series will run a dynamic test as far as 4,000 KM. This testing process will be carried out on the Bogor-Jakarta City route.

"In addition, to technically optimize the test, KAI Commuter will conduct a dynamical test outside of peak hours of user service," he explained.

Therefore, Joni apologized if this dynamic test process had an effect on KRL operations even outside of peak hours.

"KAI Commuter also apologizes for the inconvenience of users and the delays that may have occurred during this new KRL dynamical test facility," said Joni.

In the future, continued Joni, with the operation of this new KRL, KAI Commuter as the manager hopes to meet the needs of KRL facilities for Commuter Line services. For the record, currently, the average volume of Jabodetabek Commuter Line users reaches more than 1 million people every working day.
