Banda Aceh Basarnas Evacuates Confined Public Transport Driver

BANDA ACEH - Banda Aceh National SAR Agency (Basarnas) team evacuated a L300 type public transport driver who was pinched after the car he was driving hit a pole due to a failed brake.

Head of Banda Aceh Basarnas Ibnu Harris Al Hussain said the victim Jamaludin (50), a resident of Batek Lamno, Jaya District, Aceh Jaya Regency. The victim was evacuated safely.

"The victim was evacuated under conditions after the public transport car driven into the pole due to the failed brake. The location of the incident was on Jalan Blang Bintang Lama, Kuta Baro District, Aceh Besar District," he said in Banda Aceh, Antara, Monday, January 10.

Ibnu Harris said the evacuation began with information that an L300 public transport car hit a pole on Sunday night. In this information, the driver is said to be in a pinched condition and an accident SAR operation is needed with special handling.

Furthermore, he said, the Banda Aceh Basarnas dispatched a team to evacuate victims. The team is equipped with accident rescue equipment, communication tools, and other needed equipment.

"Arriving at the location, the team immediately evacuated the victim with special equipment. The evacuation lasted an hour and the victim was then taken by ambulance to Zainoel Abidin Hospital, Banda Aceh City," he said.

In addition to Basarnas personnel, the SAR operation was an accident with special handling involving police personnel, elements of the TNI, paramedics from the puskesmas, and the community.

"With the discovery of the victim, the SAR operation is closed and the personnel involved in the search are returned to their respective units or agencies," said Ibnu Harris Al Hussain.
