Anticipating A Surge In Passengers During Lebaran 2025 Homecoming, ASDP Prepares 67 Ships
JAKARTA - PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) ensures the readiness of crossing services to face a surge in passengers and vehicles at Lebaran 2025 Transportation. One of them is by preparing 67 ships.
For your information, this year's Eid homecoming also coincides with the holiday and joint leave of Nyepi Day which falls from March 28 to 29.
ASDP Corporate Secretary, Shelvy Arifin explained that ASDP has developed a comprehensive strategy to ensure that service remains prime during the Lebaran 2025 homecoming period.
"We have prepared anticipatory measures, actively coordinating with regulators regarding the addition of ships, increasing port capacity, and massive socialization regarding the importance of buying tickets early through Ferizy," he said in an official statement, Monday, February 10.
Shelvy said to deal with the surge in vehicle flows, ASDP has expanded its parking capacity and prepared supporting ports. At Merak Port, 67 ships are ready to operate with a daily capacity of 25,067 vehicles.
Meanwhile, Ciwandan and Bojonegara Ports (BBJ) will become alternative ports, with an additional capacity of 6,760 vehicles per day. Additional buffer zones have also been prepared in Indah Kiat to break down the density," he said.
Meanwhile, on the Ketapang 'Gilimanuk route, ASDP prepares large ships, buffer zones on arterial routes, as well as traffic engineering to ports.
"This is done to anticipate a surge in passengers which is predicted to peak on D-2 Lebaran, along with Nyepi Day," he explained.
Shelvy said the prediction of the peak of the homecoming flow itself is expected to occur on March 28, 2025 or D-3 Lebaran. Meanwhile, the peak of backflow is projected on April 6, 2025 or D+5 Lebaran.
For this reason, continued Shelvy, ASDP continues to coordinate with the police and the transportation department to ensure a more organized traffic scheme.
"The government urges the entire community to be aware of the surge in passengers because Nyepi Day coincides with the peak period of going home. We have prepared a port of assistance to prevent overcrowding, especially in Merak "Bakauheni and Ketapang", said Shelvy.
Digital Ferizy Innovation Expansion
Shelvy said that as a form of digital innovation, ASDP continues to develop the Ferizy platform to make it easier for people to plan trips. Purchase of tickets long ago, at least D-60 before departure, is advised that people do not face obstacles at the port.
"This socialization will be focused on strategic trajectories such as Merak Bakauheni, Ketapang'Gilimanuk, and Ajibata'Ambarita," he said.

"Tiket can also be purchased through the Livin' Sukha application. This step is expected to make it easier for the community and reduce brokering practices," he said.
With the readiness of mature facilities and infrastructure, ASDP is committed to providing safe, comfortable, and controlled travel for all service users.
"Synergy between the Ministry of Transportation, SOEs, and other stakeholders is the main key in the success of the 2025 Eid Transport," he said.
