Officially Become An Indonesian Citizen, Ole Romeny Is Targeted To Debut In The Indonesian National Team In March 2025
JAKARTA - Ole Romeny officially has the status of an Indonesian citizen (WNI) after taking an oath on Saturday, February 9, 2025, in London. With his new status, Ole is targeted to be able to defend the Indonesian national team in March 2025 as revealed by the General Chairperson (Ketum) of PSSI, Erick Thohir.
During the Indonesian oath process, Ole was not alone. He also went through the process with two other naturalized players, namely the Geypens Team and Dion Markx.
After the oath process is complete, the three of them are just left to undergo the transfer of associations from the Dutch Football Federation (KNVB) to PSSI at FIFA to legally defend the Indonesian national team.
For Ole, he is projected to strengthen the Indonesian national team in the continuation of the 2026 World Cup Qualification Third Round of the Asian Zone, March 2025.

The Indonesian national team will challenge the host Australia at the Sydney Football Stadium, Sydney, March 20, 2025. After that, the Garuda squad will host the Bahrain national team at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Jakarta, five days later.
Meanwhile, Geypens and Markx are planned to be part of the U-23 Indonesian national team which will run at the 2025 Thailand SEA Games, later this year.
After the naturalization of Ole Romeny, Team Geypens, and Dion Markx was completed, Erick Thohir thanked various parties for supporting the naturalization of the three,
"Alhamdulillah, I thank the President, Pak Prabowo, who continues to support the improvement of the Indonesian national team."
"In addition, support from the DPR. PSSI will give an explanation to DPR friends at the right time to provide roadmaps," said Erick Thohir.
"Of course this support is extraordinary so that good players can believe that the Indonesian government is really behind this, PSSI is really supported. You see, of course their sacrifices need support," said the man who also serves as Minister of BUMN RI.
