Construction Of The Rukh Rampung Dam, Deputy Minister Of Public Works: Ready To Meet Immigration Needs 12,194 Ha

Deputy Minister of Public Works (PU) Diana Kusumastuti said the construction of the Rukoh Dam in Aceh had been completed. This dam was built by swallowing a budget of IDR 1.7 trillion through two work packages from 2018 to 2024.

Diana said the Rukoh Dam was able to provide raw water with a capacity of 900 liters per second and could meet irrigation needs covering an area of 12,194 hectares.

"This is to support food security," Diana said as quoted from her written statement, Monday, February 10.

He considered that the Rukh Dam water was quite abundant and was able to irrigate rice fields through the Irrigation Area (DI) of Baro Raya. With the Rukoh Dam, Diana claimed, the Planting Index (IP) also increased from 191 percent to 300 percent.

"Hopefully it can increase agricultural production," he said.

In addition to being able to provide raw water and support irrigation, said Diana, the Rukoh Dam has a flood reduction function of 51 hectares.

The dam, which is located in Pidie Regency, also has the potential to support solar power plants (PLTS) with a capacity of 137 megawatts and a 1.22 megawatt microhydro power plant (PLTMH).

Meanwhile, Head of the Sumatra River Basin Center (BWS) I Heru Setiawan said, the Rukoh Dam has a capacity of 128 million cubic meters, with an inundation area of 687 hectares.

It is known that package 1 of this dam was carried out by PT Nindya Karya (Persero), namely the work of Spillway, while package 2 was carried out by PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk-PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk-PT Andesmont Sakti.

"The scheme for utilizing the Rukoh Dam is also in accordance with the Astacita of the Government of Indonesia, which can provide benefits for food security, energy and water," he said.
