Because Of Sophisticated But Easy To Hang Out, Ford's Back Light In Texas Becomes A Thief
JAKARTA - The theft of Ford F-Series pickup lights has occurred in Texas, United States. Since September, 34 trucks have been recorded as victims, with a total loss of more than 92,000 US dollars or around Rp. 1.4 billion. This figure is very fantastic, considering that what was stolen was only a back light.
Launching Carscoops, Monday, February 10, this advanced LED light installed on the latest pickup is indeed the target of the perpetrators. In addition to the expensive price, reaching thousands of dollars per set, these lights are also easy to remove. In fact, even locked pickups are not safe. Perpetrators only need to open a few back tub covers to access and release the lights.
The high price of this rear light is due to LED technology and integrated monitoring blind-spot sensors in it. To replace just a pair of rear lights, truck owners have to spend between 2,500 and 6,000 US Dollars (around Rp40.6 million to Rp97.5 million) depending on the model.

The rise of this case has caught the public's attention. Local media, Fox26, even raised it as the main news. Ford's pickup-owning community is also restless. Several companies have started offering preventive solutions, such as metal plates that block access to the back tub cover key. One of them is Latchlid, which was founded by Margot and the Mcguire Team after their truck became victims of backlight theft twice a year.
