Overthrow Garuda Jaya 3-2, Samator Qualifies For Final Four Proliga 2025

JAKARTA - Surabaya Samator confirmed that he qualified for the final four of the 2025 Proliga after defeating Jakarta Garuda Jaya with a score of 3-2 (25-19, 20-25, 25-14, 24-26, 15-12) in the match which took place at GOR Jalak Harupat, Bandung, Sunday.

This victory confirmed Samator in the third position of the standings, while Garuda Jaya had to bury their hopes of advancing to the next round. With only five men's teams competing at PLN Mobile Proliga 2025, this defeat ensured that Garuda Jaya's steps were stopped.

The duel between the two teams was fierce from the start. Samator opened the match with a 25-19 victory in the first set, but Garuda Jaya rose in the second set and responded with a 25-20 victory.

In the third set, Samator showed consistency in the game by winning 22-13 before closing the set with a score of 25-14. However, Garuda Jaya did not just give up and managed to force the fifth set after winning a dramatic 26-24 victory in the fourth set.

The determination set was tight, with Garuda Jaya winning 8-7 before the two teams took turns scoring until a 9-9 draw. However, Samator's experience of winning seven Proliga titles became the difference, until finally they confirmed a 15-12 victory in the fifth set.

Garuda Jaya's assistant coach, Anwar Sadat, assessed that his team had put up maximum resistance even though they had to admit Samator's superiority.

"We have to admit, Samator is a senior team and we are juniors. But in today's full set matches, children play freely and enjoy their game," said Anwar Sadat in a written statement.

Meanwhile, Samator's assistant coach, Sigit Ari Widodo, is grateful for his team's success in securing the final four ticket.

"Alhamdulillah, we were able to win today's game, and qualify for final four," said Sigit.

Sigit also admitted that the match was tight and both teams displayed their best games. "Both teams played well together, and we were luckyer to win the game," he added.
