Leaving KV Mechelen, Sandy Walsh Officially Joins Yokohama F. Marinos
JAKARTA - Japanese League's highest caste club Yokohama F. Marinos officially announced the arrival of Indonesian national team full-back Sandy Walsh to enter the 2025 season competition.
Quoted from the club's official website on Sunday, Yokohama F. Marinos signed Sandy Walsh with a full transfer scheme from the highest caste club in the Belgian League KV Mechelen.
This is the first experience for Sandy Walsh to have a career in the Asian continent and the 29-year-old admits that he is very honored to be joining Yokohama F. Marinos.
"I feel my mission is to contribute to achieving high goals as a J-League club. I've met all my teammates, and I feel like we have some great players and we're going to have a good season under the new manager," Sandy said.
"I will do my best here, fight hard every day, and show everyone my strength, and do your best to make you proud. I hope to see you soon on the pitch. Let's celebrate the best season together," he said.

The decision to leave KV Mechelen is believed to have been made by the Brazilian-born Belgium because of the difficulty of getting playing minutes this season.
This season, Sandy Walsh has only played seven games with KV Mechelen with a total of 288 minutes playing in various competitions.
Starting a career with the youth team of Belgian giants Anderlecht before finally deciding to join KRC Genk in 2011 and promote to the first team a year ago.
After five years of defending KRC Genk, Sandy Walsh moved to fellow Belgian club Zulte Waregem in 2016 and played for three years there.
In October 2020, Sandy Walsh joined KV Mechelen and appeared a total of 133 times in various competitions with nine goals and 15 assists out of a total of 10,374 minutes of play.
