Overthrow PSS Sleman 2-1, Bali United Tighten Competition For League 1 Champion
JAKARTA - Bali United returned to winning ways after overthrowing PSS Sleman with a score of 2-1 in the 22nd week of Liga 1 Indonesia 2024/25 at Manahan Stadium, Surakarta on Sunday afternoon WIB.
Rahmat Arjuna opened the scoring for Bali United, but PSS equalized through Gustavo Tocantins' goal. Then Irfan Jaya became the hero of Serdadu Tridatu's victory thanks to his goal in the second half.
This result marked the rise of Bali United after losing at Arema's home last week. Thanks to this additional three points, Bali United moved up to fifth in the League 1 standings with 37 points from 22 matches.
Meanwhile, PSS Sleman did not move from rank 15 with 19 points, only two points away from Persis Solo in the relegation zone.
PSS Sleman almost opened the scoring after the game lasted 10 minutes. Vico fired a hard left foot shot from outside the penalty box, but the ball hit the crossbar before leaving the field.

PSS Sleman tried to equalize the score to the remaining time. However, their attacks have not been able to dismantle the solid defense of Bali United.
