Stop The IKN Budget, Prabowo Is Said To Still Consider Jokowi An Important Figure

JAKARTA PPI Executive Director Adi Prayitno dismissed the assumption that there was a link between the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and the 8th President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto after the government blocked the budget for the construction of the Nusantara State Capital (IKN).

According to him, the blocking of the IKN budget cannot be seen as an indication of a rift in the relationship between the two figures. He revealed that there was a correction to policies that included national strategic projects, APBN management, and the infrastructure sector, this did not mean that Prabowo and Jokowi were starting to become hostile.

"When viewed from his political gesture, Prabowo still considers Jokowi as an important person who is treated the same as the previous president," he said, Sunday, February 9, 2025.

In addition, the corrections that occurred were part of the policy evaluation in order to achieve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Prabowo-Gibran government, not a reflection of the personal or political conflict between the two figures. "The relationship between them is maintained and cared for," he added.

Therefore, he asked the public not to easily conclude that the revision of strategic policies is proof of a rift in the relationship between Prabowo and Jokowi. the reason is, in the world of politics, differences of views and approaches are reasonable and must be seen from the context of efforts to achieve efficiency and progress for the nation.

Previously, the Minister of Public Works (PU), Dody Hanggodo, revealed that his party had not yet realized or spent the development budget for the Capital City of the Archipelago (IKN) for 2025. This follows the efficiency of the Ministry of Public Works' budget which reached IDR 81.38 trillion, and only leaves a budget for this year of IDR 29.57 trillion.

"The realization of the IKN budget doesn't seem to be all. I said earlier that our budget was blocked, (so we couldn't) ask for progress," he said after working with Commission V DPR RI, Thursday, February 6, 2025.
